Students from Pakistan can now apply for scholarships to study in Europe.

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) announced on Monday that Pakistani students can now take advantage of the chance to study in Europe on scholarship, which is a welcome step.

Students from Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir will be eligible to enrol in bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, and PhD programmes at several Hungarian universities thanks to the “Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme (2024–25)”.

The minimum educational requirement for bachelor’s and one-tier master’s degrees is 12 years, whereas applicants to master’s programmes need to have finished 16 years of school.

Individuals who have completed 17–18 years of study can apply for a PhD programme in the interim.

In addition to paying for tuition, the scholarships will help students with living expenses and medical costs.

It should be emphasised, nevertheless, that the initiative will only help with a portion of the students’ costs and will not completely cover their living expenditures.

On the relevant website provided in the message on X, the old Twitter account, you can get additional information about the various degree programmes and disciplines of study.

For further information, see HEC’s website. Applicants must submit their applications, together with their final degree and transcript, by August 1, 2024.
