Afiniti Files a Lawsuit Against Former Workers for Breach of Confidentiality

Afiniti, a prominent global technology company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions with a software development hub in Pakistan, has reportedly initiated legal proceedings against three Pakistan-based former employees in order to protect its intellectual property and maintain its competitive edge.
According to sources familiar with the situation, Afiniti has filed a case in the Sindh High Court alleging that these individuals misappropriated confidential information, and the Sindh High Court has issued a stay order prohibiting these individuals from using Afiniti’s confidential information.

Afiniti’s Legal Case Unveiled
Afiniti claims that the three people listed in the litigation violated confidentiality and joined a competing AI solutions business called Isbei, possibly endangering Afiniti’s intellectual property, especially considering the similarities between Isbei’s solutions and Afiniti’s. Afiniti strives to enforce its rights and limit any potential harm resulting from the illegal use or disclosure of its intellectual information by initiating legal action.
The Zia Chishti Relationship
Afiniti was founded by disgraced Pakistani-American businessman Zia Chishti, a significant figure in Pakistan’s software industry. Chishti was the company’s CEO and Chairman before stepping down in the aftermath of a widely publicized sexual misconduct arbitration made against him by a former employee, and the arbitrator ordered him to pay the ex-employee more than $5 million.
According to the court petition and industry analysts, Chishti has since established a new company, Isbei, which employs several former Afiniti personnel (including Isbei’s CEO). Interestingly, Isbei is promoting Afiniti-like services to Chinese corporations.
At the very least, Chishti’s name, as well as the geopolitical and cross-border implications, add a dimension of intrigue to the court procedures and will undoubtedly generate further interest in the case.
Afiniti was sought for comment on the ongoing legal processes but declined to make one. Industry insiders, on the other hand, have remarked that Afiniti appears to have taken significant steps to develop a new corporate culture following Zia Chishti’s departure.
