A tiny asteroid, measuring approximately 27 inches in diameter, is set to enter Earth’s atmosphere today, creating a harmless fireball spectacle over northern Siberia. Temporarily named C0WEPC5, the asteroid was detected at the Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona.
The European Space Agency (ESA) confirmed that the asteroid will disintegrate completely in the atmosphere, posing no threat to Earth. The event is expected to occur at 11:15 am ET (1615 GMT).

This is the fourth “imminent impactor” of the year, a category of asteroids discovered just hours before atmospheric entry. Similar events earlier this year included a fireball over Hawaii in October and another over the Philippines in September.
Global monitoring systems by agencies like ESA ensure early detection and tracking of such space objects to keep Earth safe from any potential threats.
