OpenAI’s popular chatbot, ChatGPT, is back online after a brief outage that impacted thousands of users. The company confirmed that the issue had been resolved, with access fully restored by 4:34 p.m. PT (0034 GMT on Saturday).

The outage lasted about 30 minutes, with over 19,000 users affected, according to Downdetector.com. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman acknowledged the disruption on X, noting the company’s efforts to improve reliability, despite the challenges.
Since its launch in November 2022, ChatGPT has gained 250 million weekly active users, contributing to OpenAI’s rapid growth and significant valuation jump.
