In terms of fixed broadband speed, the UAE is also no slouch, ranking second globally in June. With a download speed of 239.2 Mbps, it took first place in the region and among Arab nations.
Singapore, on the other hand, stole the show with an average speed of 247.29 Mbps.
Ookla’s quarterly reports revealed a few more intriguing information. Etisalat, a major telecom player, had the fastest median download speeds for both mobile and fixed broadband in the second quarter of 2023, at 216.65 Mbps and 261.98 Mbps, respectively.
Not only that, but Etisalat had the fastest median 5G download speed at 680.88 Mbps and the lowest median mobile multi-server latency at 35ms.
