A 23-year-old man, Owen L., has confessed to murdering 11-year-old Louise Lasalle in Epinay-sur-Orge, France, after an online argument while playing Fortnite.

Louise was found dead in a wooded area on February 8, 2025. Authorities say Owen, enraged by insults from another player, set out to commit a robbery and targeted Louise for her phone. When she screamed, he fatally stabbed her before fleeing.
Owen’s DNA linked him to the crime, leading to his confession. His girlfriend has also been charged for failing to report the murder.
