Tokyo has introduced a new AI-powered system aimed at enhancing disaster response times for emergencies such as fires and building collapses.
Developed by Hitachi Ltd., the system uses high-altitude cameras to automatically detect these incidents in real-time.

Upon detection, the system swiftly transmits critical information to the police, fire department, and Japan’s Self-Defense Forces, allowing for a quicker and more coordinated response.
This technological advancement is designed to improve the efficiency of emergency services during critical situations.
The deployment of this system comes as Japan remains on high alert due to warnings of a possible “mega” earthquake. To support the initiative, high-resolution cameras have been installed at Tokyo metropolitan government buildings and various other strategic locations throughout the city.
