WhatsApp is developing a new Meta AI widget to provide direct home screen access, eliminating the need to open the app for AI interactions.
Spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta (v2.25.1.27) for Android, the widget will allow users to initiate conversations with Meta AI and quickly capture or share photos for tasks like photo editing, content analysis, or answering queries.

This feature, however, will initially be limited to select users in specific countries who already have access to AI-powered chats. Users can add the widget alongside other WhatsApp widgets on their home screens.
Additionally, WhatsApp is working on tools for custom AI chatbot creation, enabling users to define chatbot personalities, goals, and tasks for tailored experiences, such as motivation or organisation.
The Meta AI widget is under development and is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.
