The NHA has increased toll tax rates for national highways and motorways

Road travel in Pakistan is set to become more expensive as the National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced an increase in toll tax rates for several national highways and motorways. The new rates, effective from July 1, 2024, will impact multiple routes including:

 

  • M1 (Islamabad to Peshawar)
  • M3 (Lahore to Abdul Hakim)
  • M4 (Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and Multan)
  • M5 (Multan to Sukkur)
  • M14 (DI Khan)
  • E35 (Hussainabad to Hasan Abdal – Havelian – Mansehra Expressway)

The revised toll rates are as follows:

  • Cars: Increased by Rs 30 to Rs 40
  • Wagons: Increased by Rs 70
  • Buses: Increased by Rs 30 to Rs 130
  • Articulated Trucks: Increased by Rs 100 to Rs 350

The NHA has stated that the additional revenue generated from these increased toll taxes will be used to improve and maintain the national highways, aiming to provide safer and more efficient travel for commuters.
