In Indonesia, a female influencer named Lina Lutfiawati, who is a Muslim, has been sentenced to two years in prison for blasphemy after posting a viral TikTok video in which she ate crispy pork skin, a food considered haram (forbidden) in Islam.
In the video, Lutfiawati even recited the prayer “Bismillah” before consuming the dish, which garnered millions of views and sparked both fascination and outrage.

The court in the Indonesian city of Palembang found her guilty of deliberately “spreading information that was intended to incite hate or individual/group enmity based on religion.” In addition to the prison sentence, she was fined 250 million rupiah ($16,249.59).
Lutfiawati issued a public apology after the verdict and expressed her surprise at the severity of the punishment.
