Failure to Convene OIC Meeting After Iran Threats is Diplomatic Negligence – Faisal Muhammed

Global Concerns Over Trump’s Threats to Iran

While talking to Pakistani news outlet News Guru, international mediator Faisal Muhammed has raised grave concerns over US President Donald Trump’s explicit threats of military action against Iran, warning that such aggressive rhetoric sets a dangerous precedent for global stability.

He further cautioned that if global superpowers continue down the path of unilateral actions and military threats, international law will be eroded, leading to geopolitical turmoil.

The Iran Nuclear Issue: Diplomacy Over Aggression

Addressing Iran’s nuclear program, Faisal Muhammed stressed that diplomatic engagement remains the most pragmatic solution. He argued that multilateral dialogue and strict adherence to non-proliferation agreements should take precedence over threats of war. “Imposing dominance through military aggression endangers not just Iran but the entire international order,” he noted, urging world powers to embrace constructive negotiations over confrontation. International Mediator underscored the inconsistencies in the US administration’s stance, pointing out that the newly elected president had campaigned on a platform of global peace and de-escalation. However, his immediate pivot to hostility against Iran signals a worrying contradiction that undermines diplomatic norms. “Commitment to global security must not be sacrificed for political leverage,” he emphasized.

OIC’s Silence: A Strategic Failure?

Faisal strongly condemned the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its failure to convene an emergency session in response to Trump’s escalatory remarks. He described this inaction as diplomatic negligence, warning that the OIC’s primary purpose of protecting the collective interests of the Muslim world is at stake. “The absence of a unified response weakens the OIC’s global standing and credibility,” he cautioned.Faisal urged OIC member states to act swiftly by convening a high-level summit to address the escalating tensions and formally lodge a strong protest against unilateral military threats. “If the OIC does not step up to advocate for peace and regional stability, its very existence will come into question,” he concluded, emphasizing the need for decisive diplomatic action.
