A distressing case of sexual assault has emerged from a private hostel in Hyderabad, India, where a first-year engineering student was targeted earlier this week.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday when a driver employed by the hostel owner attacked the student.

The victim was alone in her room at the time when the accused knocked on her door, pretending to deliver a bed sheet. As she opened the door, the man forced his way in and assaulted her.
The student, who was preparing for her practical exams scheduled for the following day, immediately reported the assault to the local police. This prompted an investigation, and the accused was subsequently arrested.
The victim underwent a medical examination at a hospital, and evidence was collected as part of the inquiry. Authorities are thoroughly investigating all aspects of the case.
