Professional golfer and Masters champion Jon Rahm has made the decision to join the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf competition, leaving the traditional PGA Tour.
In a deal reported to be worth up to £450 million, Rahm is set to become the world’s highest-paid athlete, earning £192 million more than the combined earnings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Rahm’s move to LIV Golf follows Ronaldo’s contract with another Saudi Arabia-backed team, Al-Nassr, since the beginning of 2023.
Rahm emphasized his decision as a means to provide the best opportunities and resources for his family.
