Children's Rights Group Accuses Israeli Forces of Human Rights Violations in West Bank

An international children’s rights organization has accused Israeli forces of committing severe human rights abuses against two Palestinian boys during a military raid in the occupied West Bank. The group, Defence for Children International – Palestine (DCIP), reported that the boys, aged 7 and 13, were subjected to forced stripping, psychological abuse, and arbitrary detention following the fatal shooting of their grandmother on March 10.

According to DCIP, the boys were visiting their grandparents in a village west of Jenin when Israeli troops raided the area. Their grandmother was killed after stepping outside during the raid. The boys and their grandfather were allegedly forced at gunpoint to strip down to their underwear, bound with cable ties, and left in the cold for an hour before being taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

DCIP condemned the actions as violations of international law, calling it “cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment.” The boys were reportedly held for nearly 12 hours before being released in the same condition.

The incident has drawn significant criticism from rights groups, further intensifying scrutiny of Israel’s treatment of minors in military operations in the West Bank. Israeli authorities have yet to respond to the allegations.
