Dawoodi Bohra Leaders Extend Condolences to Prince Rahim Aga Khan V in Lisbon

In a solemn gesture, the leaders of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, representing His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, visited Lisbon to offer their condolences to His Highness Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V on the passing of his father, His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV. The visit underscored the deep bond and shared heritage between the two communities.

The delegation, led by Shahzada Ammar Jamaluddin, brother of His Holiness, included Shahzada Mehlam Yunus and Barrister Mehmood Yusuf Mandviwalla. They were received by Mr. Sultan Ali Allana, a representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). The leaders of the Ismaili Community, including Mr. Allana, were also present during the meeting.

During the visit, a letter of condolence from Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin was handed to Prince Rahim, paying tribute to the late Aga Khan IV’s remarkable contributions to education, healthcare, and social welfare. The letter emphasized the profound impact of his visionary leadership on communities worldwide.

Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin also highlighted the shared ancestry of the Dawoodi Bohra and Ismaili communities, which trace back to the Fatimid Imams, and reaffirmed the strong relationship that has spanned generations. The Dawoodi Bohra Community expressed solidarity with the Ismaili Community during this period of mourning, offering their prayers and support.

The Syedna conveyed his heartfelt wishes to Prince Rahim as he assumes his new role as Aga Khan V, praying for his success in continuing the spiritual legacy of his forefathers.
