Once again, New Delhi has claimed the unenviable title of the world’s most polluted city, as per a recent report by Deccan Herald. The city’s air transparency index surged from 89.1 micrograms per cubic meter in 2022 to 92.7 micrograms per cubic meter in 2023, underscoring the persistent air quality challenges in the region.

 

According to a report by Bloomberg, India has secured the third position globally in terms of air pollution, with New Delhi standing out as the most polluted and dirtiest city worldwide.

The escalating pollution levels have caused significant disruptions to daily life, with the closure of educational institutions exacerbating the challenges faced by children in the capital city.
