Generation Beta Set to Begin in 2025, Ushering in a New Era

Starting January 1, 2025, a new demographic group known as Generation Beta will officially come into existence. Spanning individuals born between 2025 and 2039, this generation is expected to make up 16% of the global population by 2035. Many members of this cohort are projected to witness the dawn of the 22nd century, according to social researcher Mark McCrindle, who has been instrumental in defining generational labels.

Generation Beta follows Generation Alpha (2010–2024) and continues a new naming tradition based on the Greek alphabet, signaling a fresh chapter in human history. Often referred to as “Beta babies,” this generation will grow up in a world marked by unprecedented technological advancements, such as autonomous vehicles, wearable health devices, and immersive virtual environments.

According to McCrindle, while Generation Alpha has seen the rise of artificial intelligence and smart technology, Generation Beta will live in a world where these technologies are deeply integrated into every aspect of life. From education and workplaces to healthcare and entertainment, AI and automation will play a central role in shaping their daily experiences.

However, alongside technological advancements, Generation Beta will also inherit significant global challenges. Issues like climate change, rapid urbanization, and shifting population dynamics will require this generation to prioritize adaptability, collaboration, and sustainability. As eco-consciousness grows, members of Generation Beta are expected to lead the charge in making sustainability a core part of their lifestyle and society.

Understanding the values and needs of Generation Beta will be crucial as they grow up and begin to influence the world around them. Their preferences will likely reshape industries and societal norms, making them a pivotal group in the ongoing evolution of generational trends.
