Hezbollah Rocket Kills 12 at Football Ground, Israel Promises Retaliation

On Saturday, a rocket attack on a football ground in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights killed 12 people, including children. Israeli officials have blamed Hezbollah for the strike and have promised retaliation. Hezbollah has denied involvement, claiming the accusations are false.

The rocket hit a football pitch in the Druze village of Majdal Shams, escalating tensions and fears of a broader conflict. The attack is the deadliest in Israeli-controlled territory since the Gaza conflict began.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed a severe response, while Hezbollah has rejected the claims. The Israeli military identified the rocket as an Iranian-made Falaq-1, and the U.S. has condemned the attack, pledging support for Israel.

Despite the heightened tensions, Israeli security instructions remain unchanged. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called for a strong response against Hezbollah, including targeting its leader. The conflict has caused significant casualties and displacement in both Lebanon and Israel.
