Imran Khan Bid for the Position of Oxford Chancellor has Suffered a Setback

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has faced criticism over his nomination for the role of Oxford University Chancellor.

Critics, in a letter published in The Guardian’s Observer section, argue that Khan’s nomination is inappropriate due to his past support for the Taliban and controversial statements on women’s rights.

They claim that Khan’s views contradict the values of Oxford University, pointing out his endorsement of restrictions on women’s education and his remarks about women’s attire.

The letter suggests that Khan’s candidacy would be favored by the Taliban and their supporters, making it particularly concerning.

It recommends Lady Elish Angiolini as a more suitable candidate, highlighting her non-political stance and dedication to increasing accessibility for underprivileged students.
