In a disturbing development from Indian-occupied Kashmir, two Indian military units reportedly engaged in a friendly fire incident along the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in the deaths of five Sikh soldiers.
The clash occurred between April 25 and 26 in the Japala Bridge area of the Baramulla sector. Sources claim that the 185 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) mistakenly fired upon the 13 Sikh Light Infantry Regiment of the 12th Brigade during a night patrol.

The incident has reportedly caused deep anger within the ranks of the 13 Sikh Light Infantry. Defense analysts see this as a reflection of growing frustration, declining morale, and internal disarray within the Indian armed forces.
Experts noted that this is not an isolated occurrence, with previous cases of internal fire further raising alarms about discipline issues in the Indian military. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s defense establishment has reiterated its readiness to respond decisively to any provocation from across the border.
