Iran’s air force claims successful interception of Israeli missile strikes, with limited damage reported

Iran

Iran has announced that its air force successfully intercepted multiple missile attacks allegedly launched by Israel, targeting military facilities in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam. According to Iranian state media, the integrated air defense systems were able to thwart the incoming missiles, resulting in minimal damage, which is currently being assessed, with no casualties reported.

The Iranian military accused Israel of ignoring prior warnings regarding such attacks. Meanwhile, operations at Tehran’s Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini international airports were reported to be unaffected, although surrounding airspace witnessed the swift interception of the alleged missiles. Reports confirmed that no missiles breached Iran’s defenses near the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) bases located west of Tehran.

This incident follows a series of escalating tensions in the region, particularly after Iran launched a significant ballistic missile barrage against Israel on October 1, firing approximately 200 missiles in what was deemed a direct attack. In response, the Israel Defense Forces announced that they were conducting strikes against military targets in Iran, asserting their right to retaliate against continuous attacks from Tehran.

As the situation intensifies, Iranian authorities have reiterated warnings to Israel, indicating that any military strike would be met with stronger retaliation. The United States was notified of Israel’s operations against Iran but confirmed that it was not directly involved in the strikes.
