Karumbi, The World’s Shortest Goat Sets New Guinness Record

In an inspiring story from Kerala, a four-year-old pygmy goat named Karumbi has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the shortest living goat in the world. Standing at just 1 ft 3 inches (40.50 cm), Karumbi has captured hearts with her petite size and remarkable achievement.

Owned by farmer Peter Lenu, Karumbi belongs to the Canadian pygmy goat breed, a species known for its small stature and genetic dwarfism. Despite her tiny legs, Karumbi’s personality shines brightly. Lenu, proud of her unique size, was encouraged by a guest to submit Karumbi for a world record, a decision that led to her international fame.

Following a detailed verification process, including measurements and health checks by a veterinarian, it was confirmed that Karumbi is a fully grown adult goat and a mother, making her eligible for the prestigious Guinness recognition. This milestone has made her a star in her own right.

Despite her small size, Karumbi is a social and lively animal, living among a variety of other animals on Lenu’s farm, including male and female goats, cows, rabbits, hens, and ducks. Adding to the excitement, Lenu revealed that Karumbi is currently pregnant, sparking anticipation that her offspring could potentially set new records.

Peter Lenu expressed his dedication to maintaining the genetic quality of all his animals, especially Karumbi, as they continue to make history together.
