Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, with a rare diplomatic gesture on February 17, as the Qatari leader arrived in New Delhi for a two-day state visit. The visit, aimed at deepening the already strong bilateral relations between India and Qatar, will focus on areas like trade, investment, energy, technology, and cultural exchanges.
During the visit, Sheikh Tamim, accompanied by a high-level delegation, is set to meet with PM Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. They are expected to discuss several key aspects of the partnership and finalize various memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to boost collaboration between the two countries.

This state visit underscores the continued strengthening of ties, especially in trade and investment.
