Rain In Makkah Provides Relief From The Intense Heat Wave During Hajj 2024

Over 1.8 million pilgrims participated in this year’s Hajj, facing the significant challenge of a severe heatwave, which claimed over a dozen lives during the annual pilgrimage.

Despite the intense heat, the holy sites of Mina, Muzdalifah, and the plain of Arafat in Makkah experienced heavy rainfall, offering much-needed relief to the pilgrims.

The sudden change in weather has been welcomed by both local residents and Hajj pilgrims, who had been enduring the scorching summer heat in recent weeks.
