US President Donald Trump abruptly canceled a scheduled news conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after a tense and confrontational meeting at the White House. The meeting, which included Vice President JD Vance, saw Trump and Vance criticize Zelensky for what they perceived as a lack of appreciation for the substantial US support provided in Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia.
During the meeting, Trump reportedly pressured Zelensky to make concessions, stating that Ukraine had no real leverage in the conflict. Trump warned, “You either make a deal, or we’re out,” implying that without US backing, Ukraine would face significant challenges in its war efforts. His blunt remarks left little room for negotiation, signaling a strain in the US-Ukraine relationship.

After the heated exchange, Trump took to social media, accusing Zelensky of being “not ready for peace” and disrespecting the US in “its cherished Oval Office.” Trump further indicated that Zelensky would only be welcome back when he was “ready for peace,” creating uncertainty around future diplomatic engagements between the two nations.
Meanwhile, Zelensky continued discussions with several European leaders who reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine. Speaking to Fox News, Zelensky downplayed the conflict, expressing optimism that US-Ukraine relations could still be repaired despite the recent disagreement.
