WASHINGTON – Former US President Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a failed assassination attempt, and the shooter has been identified.
The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the individual involved in the attempted assassination at a campaign rally. Crooks, a registered Republican, fired the shot, prompting an immediate security response that led Trump to briefly seek cover before resuming the event.

The incident resulted in one attendee’s death and two others being injured, with law enforcement investigating it as an assassination attempt. The FBI and other agencies are currently working to determine the motive and whether the shooter had accomplices.
