A tragic incident occurred during an inter-college judo match at the Sports Complex of the Mardan Education Department, resulting in the untimely death of a young female student. The victim, identified as Fiza, a 20-year-old resident of Peshawar, sustained a severe head injury during the competition, leading to a rapid deterioration in her condition.

Despite immediate efforts by rescue officials to administer CPR and stabilize her, Fiza’s condition did not improve, prompting her urgent transfer to a nearby hospital. Tragically, upon arrival at the medical facility, she was pronounced dead, succumbing to the fatal consequences of the head injury.

The Judo Competition, which had attracted participation from various schools and colleges across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was scheduled to take place from March 3 to March 8 in Mardan. Following the distressing incident, organizers of the event sought to extend support to Fiza’s family and expedite the process of handing over her body for funeral arrangements.
