The continuous downpour has caused significant damage to properties, with 37 houses partially and seven houses completely damaged across the province due to floods and rain-related incidents.

In response to the emergency situation, various government bodies, including the Relief Department, District Administration, PDMA, Rescue 1122, and Civil Defence, have been placed on high alert. Relief materials have been provided to affected families in Chitral Upper, while a comprehensive assessment of the damage is slated to commence as floodwaters recede in Lower Chitral.

Proactive measures have been taken to ensure the safety of vulnerable communities in Chitral Lower, with timely relocation to safer areas. Additionally, dry ration supplies have been provided to affected families, and road clearance efforts have been launched to restore traffic flow in affected areas.

The PDMA has issued precautionary instructions to all concerned institutions and district administrations to tackle the challenges posed by heavy rains, flash floods, urban flooding, and river inundation.

As the situation unfolds, authorities remain vigilant and committed to providing necessary assistance and relief to affected communities. Efforts to restore infrastructure and aid flood-stricken areas are underway to minimize the impact of the natural disaster on residents in the region.
