Pakistan Witnesses Soaring Gold Prices, Reaches 2-Month High

On Friday, the price of gold in Pakistan experienced a significant increase, rising by Rs. 2,200 per tola, reaching its highest point in over two months.

According to data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-carat gold reached Rs. 216,500 per tola, with a 10-gram increment of Rs. 1,886 to Rs. 185,614. This marks the first time since September 12 that the gold price has surpassed the Rs. 216,000 mark.

Earlier in the week, the precious metal’s price had increased by Rs. 3,800 per tola before a Rs. 500 per tola decrease.

Overall, gold prices have risen by Rs. 5,500 per tola during the week so far. In the international market, spot gold was up 0.2 percent at $1,984.26 per ounce, as of 0059 GMT, while US gold futures remained steady at $1,987.
