Imran Khan Unwilling to Assist Bilawal in Forming Government

PTI founder Imran Khan has explicitly rejected any collaboration with PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to form a government after the February 8 elections. Bilawal had indicated a preference for forming a government with independent candidates due to PTI’s current situation, where its candidates can’t contest elections under the party’s name or symbol. Imran Khan, responding informally to the media, advised Bilawal to seek help from those with whom he remained in government for 16 months, referring to PPP and PML-N. Imran emphasized the need for fair and transparent elections and criticized political engineering and the arrest of PTI supporters and candidates.

Imran Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the treatment meted out to his party, with police raiding their corner meetings. He urged all party members in hiding to come forward and support the party’s electoral campaign, starting this Sunday. Imran highlighted that despite unity among other parties, they are unable to defeat PTI, emphasizing the party’s strong support among the masses. He criticized the handling of the May 9 riot cases against him and party supporters, asserting that they did not break any laws during the protests.

Regarding the ongoing cypher trial, Imran Khan remarked that it was not an open trial, with media and well-wishers not allowed to participate. During the hearing, the prosecutor informed the judge that witnesses have yet to appear and be cross-examined. Imran expressed concern that the “drama” was staged for February 8, and he suggested that if this is how things will be done, they should wait until after the election date. He pointed out the discrepancy in the scheduling of the Toshakhana case involving Zardari and Nawaz, stressing the need for fairness in handling all cases.
