ISPR Congratulates Nation on Violence-Free Election 2024

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army’s military media wing, has extended congratulations to the nation on the generally peaceful and violence-free conduct of the 2024 general elections.

In a statement, the ISPR highlighted the pivotal role played by the armed forces and other law enforcement agencies in providing security during the electoral process. With the deployment of 137,000 army personnel and civil armed forces at approximately 6,000 selected sensitive polling stations and over 7,800 Quick Response Forces (QRFs), a safe and secure environment for the public was ensured.

Despite facing 51 cowardly terrorist attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, aimed at disrupting the electoral process, the soldiers remained resolute and effectively ensured peace and security across Pakistan.

The ISPR noted that 12 people, including 10 personnel of security forces and law enforcement agencies, had embraced martyrdom, while 39 others were injured in these attacks. Additionally, five terrorists were killed during various security operations.

The statement expressed gratitude to other law enforcement agencies for their collaboration in safeguarding the democratic process, emphasizing the unwavering commitment of security agencies to protect the democratic rights of citizens.

The ISPR expressed hope that the sacrifices made during the elections would not be in vain and that the election would serve as a catalyst for further strengthening democracy in Pakistan. The armed forces reiterated their dedication to upholding peace and security in the country and affirmed their readiness to provide unwavering support in safeguarding the democratic traditions of the state.
