Nawaz Pledges to Restore the Good Old Days

In a sharp critique of the current state of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, the supreme leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), expressed dissatisfaction with the prevailing conditions, attributing them to the promised “change” brought about by the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Speaking at a rally in Burewala, Punjab, Nawaz contrasted the present situation with his tenure, recalling a time of lower electricity bills and affordable commodities.

Nawaz questioned the impact of the promised change, stating that the country now faces issues such as electricity shortages, high gas prices, and soaring living costs. He invoked nostalgia for his leadership, highlighting the contrast in economic conditions, where electricity bills and prices of essential commodities were significantly lower during his era.

The PML-N leader attributed his removal from office to a conspiracy orchestrated by five judges, asserting that his refusal to accept a salary from his son led to his imprisonment. Despite these challenges, he expressed hope for positive change with the support of the people, pledging to address inflation, create employment opportunities, and develop infrastructure.

Nawaz also hinted at plans for a state-of-the-art airport in Burewala. Maryam Nawaz, the Senior Vice President of PML-N, echoed her father’s sentiments during her address, emphasizing the display of projects constructed by Nawaz Sharif wherever opponents hold rallies. She commended the significant presence of youth at the rally and urged voters to choose PML-N, promising continuous service if elected.

Maryam credited Nawaz Sharif as a leader who prioritizes the welfare of the people, vowing to address issues such as inflation, high electricity bills, and the supply of essential commodities. She highlighted her father’s commitment to ending load-shedding and called for support in the upcoming elections, assuring that PML-N would work tirelessly for the people’s benefit.
