Heavy Snowfall Alert: Warning Issued for Murree

The district administration of Murree has issued an advisory for tourists following a series of weather events, including intermittent rainfall, hailstorms, and the season’s first snowfall on Monday. Tourists are cautioned to be prepared for fluctuating temperatures in Murree.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning, stating that the upper regions, including Murree, are anticipated to receive substantial snowfall within the next 36 to 72 hours. To address any potential incidents, the district administration has taken necessary steps, with thirteen facilitation centers set up across Murree, as announced by the Deputy Commissioner.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also predicted more rain and snowfall in various districts of KPK, such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, and Peshawar. Additionally, heavy downpours and snowfall are forecasted in Kashmir.

Muhammad Saad, the spokesperson for the Tourism Authority, has recently announced the commencement of winter tourism in the upper regions. Tourists are advised to use vehicles equipped for snowy conditions when traveling to areas prone to snowfall, ensuring their safety during the winter weather.
