Google to Set Up 50 Smart Schools in Pakistan

In a bid to revolutionize the education sector, information technology giant Google has unveiled plans to establish 50 smart schools in Islamabad. These schools will be equipped with 30,000 Google for Education IDs, offering advanced features such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools aimed at enhancing collaboration and productivity in the learning environment.

A delegation from the ‘Google for Education’ team, in collaboration with its local partner Tech Valley, held discussions with the education secretary, presenting ambitious plans for Pakistan’s education sector to the government. The meeting served as a platform to outline various upcoming initiatives geared towards transforming the educational landscape of the country.

Among the initiatives discussed were teacher workshops focused on Google for Education tools, the establishment of a public Google Reference School, and the training of 2,000 youths in job-ready skills through Google career certificates. Additionally, potential collaboration was explored for hosting an EdTech event in partnership with the education ministry in Pakistan.

These initiatives signify a concerted effort to leverage technology and innovation to foster a more inclusive, accessible, and dynamic learning experience for students and educators alike.
