Big decision against Moonis Elahi by Lahore court

Big decision against Moonis Elahi by Lahore court

On Saturday, the Lahore Session Court designated Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s son Moonis Elahi an absconder in a high-profile money-laundering case.
During the court hearing, the FIA requested that Elahi be declared an absconder for failing to appear before the investigation agency despite the issuance of a non-bailable arrest order against him.
It was revealed that the challan against three more defendants, including Monis Elahi, Parvez Elahi’s son, had already been lodged.
It also stated that two money laundering investigations against him had been filed, involving the unlawful transfer of billions of rupees out of the nation and his alleged involvement in the Anti-Corruption Circle Punjab case.

Moonis Elahi, who fled the country in connection with the same money laundering charges, has also been designated a criminal.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) first filed charges against the father-son combo in connection with the Panama scandal last month.
According to the investigation, they were reportedly involved in the concealment of billions of rupees in five Panamanian entities. According to FIA sources, the evidence also pointed to the unlawful transfer of monies abroad, raising suspicions of money laundering.
Because of Parvez Elahi’s evasion, the court has taken rigorous measures to freeze his assets, including bank accounts, a computerized national identity card, and a passport.
In addition, to aid in the inquiry, the court has asked detailed travel history and exact residential address information.
Moonis Elahi, the former minister’s son, has been charged in another case by the Anti-Corruption Establishment. He has been designated as a fugitive, accused of collecting bribes alongside his father and another guy, Muhammad Khan Bhatti.
Parvez Elahi was apprehended last week and is being imprisoned in Lahore’s Camp Jail under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Section 3. However, due to the high-profile nature of the case, he has now been transported to Rawalpindi Central Jail, also known as Adiala Jail.
The money laundering case involving Parvez Elahi and his son Monis has sent shockwaves across the political landscape of the country. As the court processes develop, the country anticipates additional details on the investigation’s progress and the fate of the accused.
