The federal government has extended its transport monetization policy to both officers and judicial officers of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), offering monthly allowances of Rs. 45,000 and Rs. 55,000, respectively.

As per a Finance Division notification, this policy applies to BPS-18 and BPS-19 IHC officers and judicial officers in the Islamabad Judicial Services.

This follows the Controller General of Accounts letter and a Supreme Court judgment, clarifying the case in light of relevant rules.

The Finance Division has approved the extension, provided all formal procedures are followed.

The monetization policy, initially introduced in 2012, had sparked controversy for covering federal officers in Grades 20 to 22.
