Game Over for Corrupt Cops: Islamabad Police Revamps IG Complaint Cell 1715

In a major step toward police accountability and public service improvement, the Islamabad Police has announced a complete reorganization of its IG Grievance Cell (1715). The move aims to empower citizens to report misconduct and inefficiencies directly to the Inspector General’s Office, ensuring swift action and transparency in law enforcement.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi in the federal capital. Officials agreed to upgrade the 1715 complaint cell on modern and efficient lines to provide immediate relief to citizens.

As part of this initiative, the Complaint Management System will be enhanced to ensure faster processing, proper tracking, and direct oversight by senior officers. Citizens will now be able to call 1715 and register their complaints directly, bypassing bureaucratic delays and inefficiencies that often hinder justice.

To further reinforce accountability, the IG directed concerned officers to strictly comply with FIR registration protocols, ensuring that no citizen is denied their legal right to file a case.

Moreover, the DIG and SSP Operations have been instructed to hold weekly open courts to hear public grievances face-to-face, improving communication between the police and the public.

In the same meeting, the IG also emphasized the need to accelerate operations against drug trafficking and illegal arms, reinforcing his commitment to making Islamabad a safer city.

With this restructuring, the Islamabad Police aims to restore public trust, eliminate corruption, and create a system where every citizen’s voice is heard and acted upon.
