Wind Power Projects in Thatta Connected to Pakistan's Grid, Boosting CPEC Progress

All 12 wind power projects in Sindh’s Thatta district, with a total capacity of 610 megawatts, have been connected to Pakistan’s national grid, marking progress in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

These projects are part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and have created over 20,000 jobs, contributing to clean energy production.

The PowerChina representative in Pakistan noted the successful connection of all wind power projects and emphasized their positive impact on the region, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2 million tonnes annually.

The CPEC, celebrating its 10th anniversary, has brought significant investment, job creation, and infrastructure development to Pakistan. The Second Conference of the Global Economic Development and Security Forum highlighted the achievements of CPEC, emphasizing its positive impact on Pakistan’s development.
