police officer suspended for mistreating a female beggar

A distressing video showing a uniformed police officer abusing a female beggar has gone popular on social media. Asad Raza, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in South Karachi, has made strong steps to restore public trust in the police service.

Constable Abdul Aziz from Aram Bagh police station is seen in the widely distributed video standing next to a desperate woman, offering her a bottle of wine. The distraught woman hurriedly steps back, but the officer continues to sip from the bottle. Later, he hands a cigarette to the beggar, who accepts it and walks away.

SSP Raza took action against the policeman after learning about the clip, realizing the gravity of the issue and the need for prompt response. As a result, Constable Abdul Aziz has been suspended pending further inquiry.

The officer’s suspension sends a clear message that any wrongdoing or behavior unbecoming of an officer will not be tolerated.
