Afridi Takes Issue with PCB Chairman Ashraf's Media Involvement

Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has criticized Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), for reportedly making phone calls to owners of media houses.

Afridi strongly disapproved of Ashraf’s actions, emphasizing that Ashraf’s role is that of the Chairman of the PCB and not a club chairman. He expressed surprise that Ashraf would involve himself in contacting media owners and accusing someone of discussing him.

Afridi stressed that as the chairman, Ashraf should prioritize delivering and fulfilling his responsibilities, particularly during Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup.

Afridi also urged Ashraf to focus on his duties, especially as the Pakistan cricket team needs to win their remaining matches against New Zealand and England to boost their chances of reaching the semi-finals and silencing their critics.

This critique comes in the backdrop of the Pakistan cricket team facing challenges and criticism due to a string of losses in the World Cup. However, the team managed to secure a victory against Bangladesh, and they now need to win their remaining matches against New Zealand and England to improve their prospects of reaching the semi-finals and quieting their detractors.
