Azam Khan Signs for Guyana Amazon Warriors in $120,000 Deal in CPL 2023

Azam Khan, the promising wicket-keeper batter, has signed the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the next Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in 2023, ushering in an exciting new chapter in his career.

According to reports, Azam’s deal with the squad is for an astonishing $120,000, putting him among the highest-paid Pakistani players currently competing in European leagues.

Azam has already demonstrated his power-hitting abilities with the Barbados Royals in the CPL’s 2021 and 2022 editions, earning acclaim and appreciation from cricket fans. During those seasons, he scored 178 runs and 257 runs, respectively, leaving a lasting impression with his spectacular efforts at the plate.

Dwaine Pretorius, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Imran Tahir will join Azam at the Guyana Amazon Warriors, bringing strength and depth to the team’s lineup for the highly anticipated 2023 CPL.

Two further Pakistani cricketers secured contracts in the CPL 2023 draught, which took place on June 30. The defending champions, the Jamaica Tallawahs, have chosen Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir.

The 2023 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is expected to enthral cricket fans across Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana from August 16 to September 24, as teams compete for glory in this coveted Caribbean cricketing spectacle.
