The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed reservations about playing their World Cup 2023 matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Pakistan will not participate in Ahmedabad until it is the last match, according to Najam Sethi, who has informed ICC Chairman Greg Barclay and Chief Executive Officer Geoff Allardice.

According to media sources, the PCB Chairman has explicitly told to ICC officials that Pakistan would prefer not to play in Ahmedabad, except for a knockout game such as the final.

According to the source, Sethi has asked the ICC to plan matches in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata if the squad wins approval from the Pakistani government.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed a willingness to have the highly awaited encounter between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Upon their return, they pronounced Pakistan a sports-friendly country and expressed pleasure with the country’s capacity to host the forthcoming Champions Trophy in 2025.

Last month, it was confirmed that Pakistan will play India in the much-anticipated World Cup 2023 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 15

According to reports, Pakistan and Bangladesh would play the majority of their matches in Chennai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, and Kolkata, with each team playing nine matches.
