Pakistan cricket team’s head coach, Mike Hesson, has highlighted the need for a strong start to the upcoming series, reaffirming his dedication to enhancing the team’s performance and global standing through consistent, intelligent play.
Addressing the media in Lahore on Monday, Hesson shared his vision for the team, saying, “Our goal is to begin the tour positively and boost our rankings through solid performances.”

He commended top-order batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, recognizing them as central figures in Pakistan’s white-ball plans. “Both Babar and Rizwan are exceptional talents and key components of our white-ball strategy. There are still some areas they can improve on, and we’re actively working on that,” he stated.
Recently appointed as head coach, Hesson emphasized the importance of adopting a modern, fast-paced approach to the game. “Teams around the world are playing aggressive cricket—we want to reach that standard. But it’s not just about being aggressive; we have to play smart, calculated cricket too,” he explained.
Looking ahead to the T20 World Cup, Hesson expressed confidence in Pakistan’s preparations and potential. “We are focused on getting ready for the T20 World Cup and are hopeful of delivering a strong performance on the international stage,” he said.
Regarding the upcoming matches against Bangladesh, Hesson acknowledged their growth and competitiveness. “Bangladesh has become a formidable team and plays quality cricket. We won’t be underestimating them,” he added.
