Mario Balotelli Narrowly Escapes Death in High-Speed Car Crash

Italian striker Mario Balotelli was involved in a car crash in his hometown of Brescia, Italy, around 8:30 PM (local time) on Thursday, November 23, 2023. The incident occurred when his Audi Q8, valued at approximately $126,000, collided with a wall, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle. Despite the severity of the accident, Balotelli suffered only minor injuries, with medics on the scene noting that he was limping.

Reports indicate that Balotelli declined to undergo a breathalyzer test, a measure used to determine the presence of alcohol in exhaled breath. This refusal led to authorities confiscating his driving license.

This incident adds to Balotelli’s history of attracting attention, as he previously made headlines in 2010 when, shortly after joining Manchester City, he crashed his Audi R8 on the way to the training ground. Notably, Balotelli played a pivotal role in assisting Sergio Aguero’s memorable goal that secured Manchester City the English Premier League title on the last day of the 2011/12 season. However, disciplinary issues and conflicts with then-manager Roberto Mancini led to Balotelli’s departure from the club in 2013.

Currently under contract with Turkish club Adana Demirspor, Balotelli has scored three goals in four matches. In a recent statement, he asserted himself as the best striker in Italy, hinting at a potential call-up to Luciano Spalletti’s team.
