Four individuals, including two ministers, were arrested for allegedly practicing sorcery on Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, revealed on Friday.
Shamnaz Saleem, a former state minister at the Environment Ministry, and her ex-husband Adam Rameez, a minister at the President’s Office, along with two others, were apprehended, local media disclosed.

“Shamnaz, along with two others, was detained on Sunday and remanded for seven days. She was suspended from her position on Wednesday by the Environment Ministry,” reported Sun.mv.
Both ministers were close aides to the president, who took office in November last year. The Maldivian government and the presidential office have not commented on the incident yet.
