Pakistan’s journey in the T20 World Cup 2024 concluded in the group stage after a shocking loss to the USA in their opening match. They subsequently faced India and suffered a close defeat, with their batting lineup faltering while chasing a target of 120 runs.

In the aftermath of their disappointing campaign, coach Gary Kirsten expressed concerns about the team’s lack of unity, noting a lack of mutual support among players and a tendency to work in isolation, which he described as unprecedented in his coaching career. Kirsten also criticized the team’s skill levels, stating that despite their extensive experience, players struggled with shot selection and timing.

Despite being former champions in 2009, Pakistan finished third in Group A standings, accumulating four points from four matches during the tournament.
