The hottest summer ever recorded in the Northern Hemisphere occurred in 2023. Scientists claim that this summer’s huge ocean storms, wildfires, flooding, and droughts were caused in part by the excessive heat in combination with other weather phenomena.

“Never has the destructive force of climate change revealed itself so widely across the globe,” claims Alice C. Hill of the CFR.

Experts caution that continuous use of fossil fuels will lead to temperatures that surpass the record-breaking heat of this summer, which has had a significant negative impact on human health and the economy.

Temperatures broke records in the Middle East, North Africa, China, the United States, and Europe. Some people who couldn’t flee the heat died as a result.
