Saudi Arabia Imposes Heavy Fines for Hajj Violations

Saudi Arabia has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to undertake the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage without the requisite permits, emphasizing stringent penalties for non-compliance with Hajj regulations.

As per the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, those embarking on Hajj without the necessary permits will be subject to fines of up to 50,000 Saudi riyals. Additionally, it is now mandatory to obtain permits for transporting pilgrims, and failure to adhere to this requirement will result in similar fines.

In addition to the financial penalty, offenders will face a six-month imprisonment followed by deportation from Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, they will be barred from reentering the country for a period of 10 years. The authorities have underscored that individuals found contravening these regulations will also be subjected to public censure through various media channels.
