Former international cricket umpire Khizar Hayat, a respected figure in Pakistanโs cricketing circles, passed away at the age of 86.
Hayat, who officiated in numerous international matches during the 1980s and 1990s, was known for his composed presence on the field and his deep understanding of the game. He stood in multiple Test matches and One-Day Internationals, earning recognition for his fair judgment and professionalism.
The Pakistan cricket fraternity expressed grief over his passing, remembering him as a pioneer who contributed significantly to the development of modern umpiring standards in the country.
Funeral prayers will be held in his hometown, with former players, officials, and fans expected to attend and pay their respects.
