Punjab’s Agriculture Department has released new guidelines for farmers using the Kisan Card, focusing on lost cards and reissuance procedures.
According to the announcement, farmers who have lost their Kisan Card or need a new one can contact the Bank of Punjab helpline. The helpline also assists with temporarily blocking cards, reissuing new cards, and recovering forgotten PIN codes.
The department emphasized that all details regarding transactions or purchases made through the Kisan Card can be easily accessed via the same support channels. These new guidelines aim to simplify access and ensure farmers can manage their cards effectively.
Earlier in May, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif increased the loan limit under the Kisan Card from Rs150,000 to Rs300,000. She also announced a subsidy of up to 95% for the solarization of agricultural tube wells, further supporting farmers’ productivity and sustainability.
In addition, the Chief Minister introduced an SMS and helpline system for farmers without Kisan Cards. She also committed to providing 20,000 green tractors next year under a subsidy program to help modernize agriculture in Punjab.
Officials noted that the new guidelines are part of a broader initiative to enhance financial support and resources for farmers, ensuring they can access loans, subsidies, and services without hurdles. Farmers are encouraged to follow the instructions carefully and make use of the provided helpline numbers for all card-related queries.
The Agriculture Department’s move highlights the government’s commitment to facilitating farmers and improving agricultural efficiency in the province. Farmers can now manage their Kisan Cards more easily while benefiting from updated loan limits, subsidies, and support services.
